News and Events
It has been brought to the attention of the Parish Council that there is a problem on the Playing Field, which is quite alarming!! A large amount of rubbish has been dumped on the playing field, consisting of basically garden waste. This rubbish will have to be disposed of and the Parish Council will have to bear the cost of this operation. So the cost will also be borne by the residents as it will have an impact on the precept. The point of this notice is to ask residents to be vigilante and keep an eye out for the culprit or culprits. If the guilty party is spotted carrying out the dumping, please report the situation to a Parish Councillor as this practice is fly tipping and is illegal.
Please do come along to our Meeting on Monday 9th January 2017 at 7.30pm.
We will be delighted to see you there, to help shape the events and activities that we will provide during 2017.
As you may have heard, unless we get some new support from our community, we may be at risk of closure.
Come along to tell us what you'd like to see on at the hall and help us organise new and exciting ventures to appeal to both young and old!
We are delighted to advise that the Post Office in the Village Hall is now open again and we were pleased to welcome Anthony our new Post Clerk.
The post office if open from 9.30 - 12.30 on a Tuesday and Thursday.
Please remember that we either use it or lose it! They can do most things that you can do in a 'normal' Post Office, so please pop in when you have a chance.
Please would all parents be aware that certain youths are vandalising the apparatus and railings on the playing field. These areas are for all children to enjoy but this problem is spoiling the facilities for all. If any persons are caught causing damage, then Whissonsett Parish Council will not hesitate to report them to the Police and take appropriate action.
